Does Del Taco have vegan options?

Table of Contents

Del Taco offers a wide range of vegan options with some modifications. This is more than other fast food chains like Taco Bell. They also provide a variety of meat-free tacos which are basically vegetarian, but you can make it plant-based. While it is a heaven for vegetarians, still it is acceptable for vegans as well even without Beyond Meat, which is gone for good unfortunately.

What are the vegan options at Del Taco?

  • Any kind of Taco salad without meat
  • 8 Layer Veggie Burrito without cheese and sour Cream
  • Bean and cheese burrito without cheese
  • CrunchTada Tostada without the cheese

There’s some nonsense spreading that Del Taco rice isn’t vegan, and you need to specifically request it. This claim is utter nonsense. I have asked several employees, one of whom I personally know, I have contacted Del Taco Corporate, and I checked Del Taco’s allergen list, and all agree that the Cilantro Lime Rice is vegan-friendly.

Are there vegan sides at Del Taco?

  • Guacamole
  • Crinkle Cut fries
  • Hashbrown Sticks

Everything else on the menu is vegetarian or comes with meat.

What are the vegan salad options at Del Taco?

  • Signature Taco Salad. (Specify no cheese — swap the meat for beans)
  • Cilantro Sauce
  • Green Sauce
  • Red Sauce
  • Salsa Casera
  • Taco Sauce
  • California Chili Sauce
  • Pico De Gallo

Del Taco currently only offers the salad above, which is vegan. The only sauces and dressings available are taco-oriented, but that’s fine, as they go well with a TACO-salad. These can be added to any salad, or entree for free.

Are there vegan desserts?

  • No,

Del Taco’s desserts contain dairy or eggs and can not be veganized. Del Taco Churros, unfortunately, are not vegan-friendly. I understand that this is a disappointment for many people, as there are some churros which are actually Vegan-Friendly. Del Tacos’ are not.

How do Del Taco’s vegan options look overall?

The Mexican restaurant chain’s vegan menu isn’t that great, since Beyond Meat items didn’t become permanent. However, it can be still pretty decent, if you remove the cheese from some of the items.
